Gigabytes, Terabytes and Petabytes, Oh My! Big Data and Online Digital Archives

This multimedia presentation explores how technology is changing the way archivists store, retrieve, search, and share large digital archives, including real-world examples using the software and digital collections at the National Institute for Newman Studies (NINS). This lecture was given by Dr. Daniel Michaels, Chief Technology Officer at NINS, on February 1, 2021. It explores the applications and technologies that drive NINS digital collections, with emphasis on emerging technologies and APIs, particularly the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF).
